A little of this & that

It's been awhile since I wrote anything, mostly because I wasn't sure what to write about. So I figured I'd just some updating and thought sharing for anyone out there who actually reads this.

Howie and I've gone to the beach several times already this year to swim, and it's been a lot of fun. In a few weeks I have a friend coming to visit and we're going to go out on the Rudee Rocket for the third year in a row- it's a lot of fun and we really enjoy it. (http://www.rudeerocket.com/)

Last weekend I went home for a quick overnight visit to see my parents. That was fun, quick as it was. This was the first night I'd been away from my husband since we got married (which will be two years this coming August 2) and I'll admit I cried about this- a few times.

I've been experimenting in the kitchen:

Homemade bagels (http://hubpages.com/hub/Homemade_bagel_recipe_Make_great_nadrolled_water_bagels__its_as_easy_as_baking_a_loaf_of_bread)

Homemade tortillas (http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Homemade-Tortillas)

Work has been going well. It's hard sometimes, when I can see the potential my clients have, yet they're making choices that often set them back. The whole take a step forward, but two steps back concept. It's frustrating and overwhelming. I'm thankful I had a vacation day last Friday, and today, because it was a much needed respite from the office.

We did have baby bird hatch in the next outside of the office at work, unfortunately an animal got to them. But, being the proud "office parents" that we were, I have a picture of our cute little birdies to share:

I think that's about it. Oh yes, to update on a previous post about learning how to use the weight machines at the Y, I have indeed lifted enough now to have lifted an elephant! Actually, not just one, but according to my most fitlinxx totals, I've lifted enough to have lifted SEVEN ELEPHANTS!
