I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, I'd pour through books faster than you'd believe. I'd go so far as to pack a flashlight for trips to my grandparents, so I could keep reading once it got dark. Even now, on the 10 hour trips to my in-laws, I have a bag full of books, and a flashlight, just in case I'm so absorbed into the book that I don't want to stop reading once it's dark. A little obsessive I'm sure, but that's me. I also read fast, which most people tend to think is fascinating. Once, en-route to OH I'm reading and my husband all of a sudden called out a number, say 12, and I ask why he did that. He says, 12 seconds, that's how long it took you to read the page before turning. And usually, one of the first questions my father-in-law asks me once we get to OH is "how many books did you read this time?" I'm definitely a bookworm.
However, lately, my interests have been expanding. I like to crochet now, and much to my dismay, I can't read and crochet at the same time. And while I don't cook/bake all the time, this is something that I've grown a stronger interest in, especially since I got married.
A few weeks ago while browsing with a friend who's also an avid reader, I saw the book "A Homemade Life" by Molly Wizenberg at B&N. So doing what I usually do, I go home, look the book up at the library, and go check it out. The book is awesome. It's cookbook meets life stories. I really enjoy reading about why all these recipes are so important to the author. Just good human interest, I suppose. But within a chapter of the book I was ready to throw on an apron and whip up something fabulous in the kitchen. I haven't done so yet, but I do have a few new things I'm planning on trying this weekend, and I'm excited about it.
So today I'd like to share the info on this book and the author's blog, so that maybe someone else can enjoy it like I have.

I had to read the first part of this post to my friend at work, because it sounded so familiar! I've always read fast, and never really thought much about it. She started laughing when I read her the part about Howie timing you, because she said she has done the same thing to me! We're two peas in a pod, aren't we? lol
