Hope

"Ultimately our gift to the world around us is hope. Not blind hope that pretends everything is fine and refuses to acknowledge how things are. But the kind of hope that comes from staring pain and suffering right in the eyes and refusing to believe that this is all there is. It is what we all need -- hope that comes from from going around suffering but from going through it."

~Velvet Elvis by Rob

As a Christian, I definitely have hope -- and the assurance that I get to spend eternity in Heaven with My Lord. That's exciting stuff. But as Rob Bell states, hope is a part of the Christian (and non-Christian) walk. His words remind me that God intends for us to learn and enjoy not just the pleasant, joy-filled moments, but also those that bring on sadness, anger, suffering, etc.

But we are a chosen people -- chosen by God Himself. Check out 1 Peter 2.
